We often get asked about the merits of advertising online, whether it be through social media or google advertising. Conventional advertising is so entrenched in business that they often overlook the benefits of online...spending huge amounts of cash on print, tv and radio advertising, while neglecting the amazing benefits of online.
Put simply, the numbers don't lie. With only small figures required to enter the online market, even a fledging business has the chance to advertise. You are able to measure exactly how many people are seeing your ads - in real time...and advertise directly to them. As an example, one of our clients id involved in a very particular industry. That industry had a highly attended event on in a remote part of New Zealand, meaning we knew that the majority of people in that particular area were involved in that industry on a particular weekend. So, for a $10 dollar boosted Facebook post, we were able to reach 4,000 individuals, all of which were entrenched in the relevant industry, and all who were interested. Hundreds of shares later and that ten dollar spend easily had as much reach as spending thousands of dollars on sponsoring the event itself.
We would never advocate ditching conventional media - everything has its place in terms of advertising, however it is almost criminal to not at least invest a few hundred dollars a month into Google AdWords and other digital marketing channels. The more people that see your brand, the more likely you are to increase sales...and the most cost effective way to make that happened in a targeted fashion is online advertising.
