Beginner Blogging Tips
So you've got your website looking good and now you want to make sure you have regular content on it. This is a good thing in the eyes of search engines - they love to see a website that is updated often and regularly. Here are our tips on making the most of your 543 Designs blog/news post.
CONTENT
- Make it interesting & relevant.
- Explore an area of expertise.
- Keep it short and sweet.
- Use bullet points and focus non important keywords.
PICTURES
- Liven up the page.
- Drag & drop them as you would on your normal site.
- We'd recommend not going too crazy as they clutter up the page.
- If you drag & drop into a text box, the text will wrap around the picture, but you won't be able to add an "Alt Text" caption. If you drag & drop beside a text box, a new column will be formed, the text won't wrap, but you can add an "Alt Text" caption.
SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION
- Drag and drop titles (don't just bold normal text) as these appear as headers in search engines and are identified as important words.
- Find the "Post Options" button at the bottom right of your screen and use it!
- Add a category to help search.
- Use the advanced post option section and give your blog an SEO Post Title and SEO Post Description.
OTHER TIPS
- Drag & drop the "Read More Break" item after the first paragraph of your blog. That will mean a shorter main blog post page.
