We’re updating our website hosting prices.
Not the most exciting update, we know. But we always try to be straight up about pricing, and we unfortunately couldn't hold costs down any more. Since our last hosting increase, inflation has gone up by roughly 15%, and the cost for 543 to provide that hosting has hit us pretty hard.
We’ve always tried to keep our hosting pricing as close to our real costs as possible. It isn’t something we treat as a big profit centre. It’s there to cover the cost of keeping your website live, secure, backed up, updated, supported, and running smoothly.
That includes things like the website files, backups and updates. All those things have external (US dollar) costs to us, so as inflation hits NZ, our hosting costs pop up.
We’ve held the pricing for as long as we reasonably could, but with costs going up across the board, we now need to make an adjustment.
The New Annual Hosting Prices
As a general rule, you'll see your hosting price jump up about 20%. So a $365 yearly hosting invoice will become $419. Similar applies across all our hosting plans and we'll likely need to roll out similar to domain pricing, but are holding off on doing that for now.
For most clients, this will simply apply from your next annual hosting renewal. There’s nothing you need to do, and your website will keep running as normal.
We know any price increase is annoying, so we’ve kept this as modest as we can while still making sure we can keep providing a reliable, well-supported hosting service.
As always, if you have any questions or you’re not sure which plan you’re on, just get in touch. We’re happy to help.
